ControlDept. acted as the system expert throughout the entire design phase of the Malmö District Court, one of Sweden’s largest courthouses, featuring 50 courtrooms of varying sizes. The first four floors house the courtrooms, while the upper levels are dedicated to offices. In total, the building covers 27,000 square meters across 14 floors. In addition to the design phase, ControlDept. also delivered and programmed the complete lighting control system.
The newly constructed Malmö District Court is a modern and functional facility that brings together several judicial operations under one roof. The building is designed with a strong focus on security, accessibility, and sustainability, offering bright and open spaces that foster a sense of safety and respect for both staff and visitors. Its architectural design is characterized by clean lines, high-quality materials, and generous glass surfaces, allowing natural light to flow through and reinforcing a sense of transparency and openness.
The building is environmentally certified with a Miljöbyggnad Guld rating.
